Queen Anne's Lace has always meant to me, simple and non fussy. I really like the torn edges which give the appearance of those qualities. The colors are just so subdues and fragile. Fav!
@lynnz I'll be happy to share as much as I remember, I'm kind of terrible at keeping track of all the different steps I may go through but my best reconstruction here is: I shot in raw and cropped the image down a bit to get rid of distracting background stuff. Then I took it into MacPhun Intensify software, to do some basic sharpening and clarity adjustments. Then popped back into Photoshop to add a layer of an antique paper texture with the natural rough/torn edges. I clipped the photo layer to the paper layer which meant that only the part of the photo that corresponded to where there was paper would show, and then played with the blending modes to find the one that gave me the amount of paper texture I liked best. After that, I also tweaked the hue and brightness a bit in Photoshop to compensate for the fact that the paper layer had a fairly dark yellowish tone which I didn't want to impact the colour of the finished image too much. Hope that helps, may be confusing if you are not familiar with Photoshop. I'm sure you could achieve similar effects in lots of other ways but that's just what I did.
@gardencat Thanks so very much for sharing, Joanne. Love the colors, texture and rough edges. It is absolutely beautiful work and so creative! I don't have Photoshop, so won't be trying anything like it. Thanks again.
