Ten out of ten for getting such a great image in very challenging conditions.
Your comment about it not being a true rectangular image made me look again.
Your camera will only take rectangular or square images. Given the conditions and the subject it's not difficult to go wrong.
You have got no horizon to work on here. A nice flat sea or lake gives you a straight flat level to compose around. I think you have used the verticals of the building and lamps to get it straight. But that makes the road wrong, you get an optical illusion and your eyes and brain picks what it thinks is right.
Crop it, keeping original dimensions and just slightly tilt up from bottom right.
nice shot in Toronto or west far west... ? I have not been home for almost 2 years . I did lots of work in china town in -20 weather little cold on the hands . I almost miss the weather … and get a water prove case I shoot in the rain its a good idea ..
@markp I know it is an optical illusion but darned if I can fix it. You're right I did use the light standard as a vertical guide. I'll try fixing it later using your suggestion.
@gardencat That's the easy way, it might be a compromise between the road looking right and the lamps leaning too far over.
I think there's a bit in Photoshop ( which I don't use) that would look at everything int the image and do a pretty good of making it look right. I am sure your camera can be set to give you a Spirit level view in the viewfinder, but this is such a difficult shot to get 100% right. I still think it's a cracking shot though.
I would guess it is an optical illustion because of the curb dividing the roadways runs at an angle and the high key image. View on black and it looks right. If you look at the back edge of the bus and the post in the median they look verticle. The power pole in the back ground is leaning which may effect your perception.
