Wild California Poppies

The California Poppy became the official state flower of California in 1903. These were growing along a sidewalk a block long.
I had to pull over and take a few photos before it started to sprinkle.
I never realized they had pink/purple bases...and ranged from golden yellow, orange, coral to red...colorful!

@mbrutus The Poppies were growing wild and in so many different colors. I thought they were just yellow in color. I had overcast good lighting.
