@ingajohansson Now that I think of it, neither have I and it’s my house...haha...for almost 23 years. The whole home is covered with cedar siding, which I love much better than California stucco but also more work. Our fireplace is traditional used brick on the inside. I think most chimneys are brick! They must have decided to use metal and then a wood outer box around it. I am just getting over a nasty head cold and your observation woke me out of my stupor. LOL!
