My parents use to live on Point Dume in Malibu. These are photos taken by my brother's tenants who live there now. There was a mandatory evacuation and it took them 6 hours on the Pacific Coast Highway to drive about 20 miles. Luckily, their place survived but many did not. Heartbreaking. I edited the photos and put them in a collage. I didn't think I was going to be posting about fires this month.

Makes you think the best plan is actually to pack a bag and walk! Glad the tenant's place survived, but such a shock to the community all round. Excellent collage for depicting the troubles.

The fires are so shocking. Here in the uk we have seen the devastation on the news, but mainly they have been showing a place called Paradise so I didn't realise Malibu had also been hit. It must be so scarey for everyone

Those are the first photos I've seen from Malibu! The SMOKE!!! How horrible! On the other hand, those cars with all the people were able to get away from there when others were not to fortunate. The only reason I can almost imagine it all is that my daughter and everyone she knew went through much the same last year! May we get rain soon, but this time, may it be gentle!
