I liked these large flowers with the crepe paper petals and the yellow pom pom centers. These flowers can grow as large a salad plates! It was breezy and the bees liked them too. They were growing outside the Wrigley Memorial & Botanical Garden on Catalina.

Does anyone know what kind of flowers these are?

the flowers here look so extravagant. They certainly do look like poppies with their wide crinkled skirts.
