Teetering In The Unknown

Travel is about
the gorgeous feeling of
teetering in the unknown.
...Anthony Boudain

I had not been to Cincinnati, Ohio before. My friend, who is very organized and a great trip planner wanted to show me the best that Cincinnati had to offer as well as horse country in Kentucky. (She knows how much I love horses!)

On my first full day, we went by car to see charming houses. We also had lunch and stopped by a cUte candy shop. Then, we ventured to downtown Cincinnati. We walked halfway across the Purple People Bridge that goes to Kentucky just on the other side of the river. You can stand with one foot in the state of Ohio and one foot in the state of Kentucky while on the middle of the bridge. We drove over the John A. Roebling Bridge, went to see the Great American Ball Park where the Cincinnati Reds play major league baseball and visited the gift shop. We saw the SkyStar Observation Ferris wheel and then had dinner at Taste of Belgium.

Across the street was the wonderful indoor Carol Ann Carousel and ventured down to Smale Park along the river. We took photos of the carousal, park, riverfront, all the flowers and the bridge.

We then hopped on the Bell Connector and rode the loop all over downtown past several landmarks, then got off at Fountain Square to see the iconic Tyler Davidson Fountain. After that, we walked over to see the Carew Tower-Netherland Hotel historic site to take in all its beauty, details and history.

What a grand day and it was only the beginning! I hope I didn't leave out anything. I am hoping to show a few photos of the places listed. And the above photo was taken from the connector of some colorful and ornate well maintained buildings in downtown Cincinnati. I loved Cincinnati.

(I took close to 3000 photos in 8 days and have been busy going through them ...deleting, editing, cropping, correcting and making a few collages.). It has been wonderful and overwhelming at the same time. Sorry to say, I have not had the time to comment on your photos lately and I am trying my best to keep current. But I am thinking about you all.)

I think you summed it up pretty well! That's a great pic. It's fun to see the city through your eyes. Can't wait to see more. I love Cincinnati too. It keeps popping up on list of Top 10 Emerging Cities. It just keeps getting better every day.

you certainly made the most of your day. and that is a lot of images to wade through. Very time consuming but also an enjoyable way to relive the trip. I like the fine tall colourful houses you have captured here.

@maysvilleky Thank you for stopping by. I had the best visit...8 whirlwind action packed days! I loved Cincinnati and the places we visited in Kentucky. I came home with SO MANY photos and I cannot pick just one to represent the day so my trip has been spread out over a month now...and just finishing up day 3! Haha!

Thank you for following my Cincinnati trip photos! Embarrassed that I am just finishing up day 3 a month laster! We saw so much in one day, I cannot choose just one photo! In the meantime, that back logs all the flower, sunset and misc. photos. Oh well, I can sprinkle those in at any time, I guess. :)
