When we
recall Christmas past
we usually find that
the simplest things
not the great occasions
give off the greatest
glow of happiness.
...Bob Hope
My husband will be running in the California International Marathon today. I will be sleeping in. This will be his 21st marathon and he will finish in about 4 hours. Looks like the temperature will not be too cold at the start but it may rain off and on. He will be running with about 10,000 other crazy people...no, thank you.
Update: My husband finished in 4 hours and 18 minutes, faster than last year but 20 minutes slower than his fastest time. He is getting older though. :)
You sound very strong - probably from having to either support this intense activity or just be comfortable with it! Did Bob Hope really say this - wasn't he wonderful in all ways!
Ha, totally agree! There is a half marathon that runs past my gate and we go out in our pyjamas holding our coffee and cheer them on as they run past! You wouldn't catch me doing it! I ran for a bus in 1974, that will do for me! Pretty colours
Beautiful colors in this shot! Good luck to your husband in the race. Today is also the Honolulu Marathon with 35,000 participants. it started at 4:30 am. (I was asleep!).
@casablanca Ha! Ha! I feel the same way these days. Walking is best exercise. I ran when I was younger because it was fun...a 10k was the longest. I enjoyed riding horses the most!â¤ď¸
@redy4et Oh that is right! We have friends that run the Honolulu Marathon! My husband thinks it would be too hot and humid after doing a few exercise runs on Oahu. Enjoy your time there! A fab place and so much to see and do! Go to Luluâs for the âto die forâ French Toast!!! A must!
@maggiemae I am comfortable with it...so time consuming! Yes, a Bib Hope quote! I enjoyed Bob Hope so much and my dad kinda looked like him, without the ski slope nose. :)

Many thank youâs for your kind comments. I am still enjoying all the beautiful colors of leaves until they are gone.
