Everyone knew that all islands
were worlds unto themselves,
that to come to an island was
to come to another world.
...Guy Gavriel Kay
Santa Catalina Island is a step back in time...a quiet lifestyle and simple charm. You do need money to afford to live there and a golf cart to get around the island. I love it there and it’s only one hour from the mainland of California.

"I found my love in Avalon
Beside the bay
I left my love in Avalon
And sailed away
I dream of her and Avalon
From dusk until dawn
And so I think I'll travel
on to Avalon"
(1937 Avalon from Benny Goodman and his Orchestra)
Oh, you ARE waxing poetic today, aren't you?! Thank you for taking me along! Here, at the top of my feed as I come by, I thought I recognized the views...and your coloration style...so no surprise when I found you here with Catalina hugged to your heart!
