We would have gone to the Pear Fair yesterday if it had not been cancelled. Delicious fresh pears and the best homemade pear pie. They have animals, pony rides, crafts and food booths, an auditorium of pear posters and old photographs, a parade with pear queen and music/entertainment. I took these photos at a previous fair we attended. So sad to miss another annual outing.

The Pear Fair is a tradition especially with the on going fight to save the Delta from the water tunnels that would ruin the area and put an end to the pear orchards, residents, homes and more.

The California State Fair was also cancelled for this month and Truckee Thursdays. Plus, the Tokyo Olympics should have opened on July 23rd. Each cancellation reminds me how much life has changed this year. It is affecting lives, dreams, events, businesses, travel, schools...everything and everyone.

Many thanks for your comments and favs. We will be going into the sixth month of this pandemic and it is getting harder to stay positive, with no end in sight.

@maggiemae There are other festivals for other fruit depending on the time of year/season. Strawberry festival, cherry festival, mandarin oranges season...but there is only one pear fair. :)

@casablanca It is a fun day!

@mittens The pie is sooo delicious! They make about 1200 fresh pear pies for the fair and they sell out by noon!
