I was invited to take an adventure to explore tranquil Sardine Lakes (lower and upper lake) and see the beautiful Sierra Buttes. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive from Sacramento, via CA highway 49. Another full and fun day.
Sierra Buttes is the dominant peak in the Lakes Basin area of Northern Sierra Nevada. The jagged granite buttes were one of the greatest producers of gold in California.
