Resting Antelope by gaylewood

Resting Antelope

I came across this beautiful animal while I was out driving today. I will say right up front that I did more editing on this photo than I have on any other photo in my project . . . to remove fence lines. I almost didn't use the image but decided to go with it . . . all in all it was an excellent learning experience starting with the shooting, through the editing, and with the final decision to post it or not.
Beautiful - you've done a great job editing this, Gayle. Can't tell where that fence line was - I'm forever removing power lines (my one big dislike to a scene) - your eye just immediately goes to that beautiful antelope. Nicely done.

@woodlandsphotog Thanks so much, Richard! I thought about you today when I was out driving because my main objective was to find some Indian Paintbrush wildflowers. I found just a few patches here and there . . . but I did find a herd of antelope. :-)

Now THAT's a first! Perhaps I shouldn't be astonished, since I've sung a song about them since childhood, but I've never seen one! I thought you were pulling out photos from a trip to Africa! I had no idea these existed in this country...it's beautiful! AND your photo is beautiful as well! I wouldn't have guessed at all that it was edited in any way! Well done, and thanks for the school lesson!
