Meet Chippy . . . the first chipmunk to come eat our peanuts this summer. In no time at all we'll be able to feed them by hand and even have them crawl on our arms and legs to get their peanuts.
OMG I want one! Only once I saw one in the yard, and I asked a friend to bring me some from his farm, but he and Ken both said no. They're about the cutest little things! A must-have! I'll work on that this summer!
@Weezilou Thanks so much for your comment and fav, Louise! Yes, they are incredibly cute! I'm so happy to be able to interact with the chipmunks since I can't seem to accomplish that with the squirrels. I've only seen a few squirrels here. I need to get some sunflower seeds. :-)
Tonight we had dinner with friends out on the deck and I snagged my first photos of squirrels! Up here they're very tiny...everyone was telling me to get the picture of the chipmunk, but zooming in, it was one of the petit Canadian squirrels! Did several really wonderful things today, so the squirrel may not make it to my link *IF* I ever catch up!!!
@Weezilou I have noticed that the squirrels are smaller here at Lake Winnipeg than in San Antonio...I'll have to do some research about the different types. I haven't seen them around much and when they do appear, they're gone in a jiffy. It will be interesting to observe their behavior when I put out some sunflower seeds. :-)
