There were four of these little critters in the yard this evening, chasing each other up and down the trees and all around the yard. Occasionally, one of them would stop for a quick treat and almost immediately be off and running again. I initially thought they were chipmunks because they're so small but because of the lack of stripes on the head, back, and tail I realized they must be young squirrels. They certainly were entertaining...and cute!
So very cute, this little guy. I had hoped to photograph those orange flowers on the riverbank yesterday evening, and I did, but they close up when the sun goes down! I'll try again today.
@jamibann Yes, I've noticed that those orange flowers close up when the sun goes down. I hope you were able to get some shots when they were wide open today. :-)
I'm no authority, but I find the squirrels in this neck of Canada are all very small! They also have the white eyeliner. They're just precious, and I see you're already set up to draw them to you with that lovely plate of food!

@gaylewood The community here grows into a family in many ways as we reach out to one another with suggestions & assistance! It's been so fascinating how many times Pam and I have spoken of our friends on 365! Glad you're pleasing the squirrels and chippies in Canada!
