I was excited to get this shot as I rarely have the opportunity to get a photo of male and female cardinals together like this. The image isn't as sharp and clear as I'd prefer . . . I think my hands were probably shaking a bit due to the total surprise of them landing together on that branch close to where I was sitting. These days, the adult birds are quite busy not only feeding themselves but also keeping an eye on their youngsters who are busy exploring the area.
It really is hard to get them in the same frame - they're often in my backyard at the same time, but never close enough to shoot together. Very nicely done. Fav
Very nice. I’ve tried lots of times to photograph them when the male feeds the female. Still haven’t got a shot I’m thrilled with. Know exactly what you mean about not holding the camera still due to excitement of the opportunity. :)
