Cactus Wren by gaylewood

Cactus Wren

. . . at Big Bend National Park in Texas.
I was fortunate to get a shot of this cactus wren while we were at the park - a new bird for me. The cactus wren is found in parts of the southwestern United States and northern/central Mexico. They are well-adapted to their native desert environment and this wren's common name comes from its frequent use of saguaro and cholla cacti as nesting sites.
