Sound of Spring

151 / 365
I was taking a picture of some flowers yesterday when I heard a loud buzzing-sound and I saw this huge bumblebee!
She was really busy collecting nectar and pollen on the bottom of some Crocuses and I could make an entire shoot of her. This is my first discovery of an insect after the winter, so this really is a sign of spring!
I didnt take this picture today, but this is just perfect for my spring-series, so forgive me...

Wow, I love these kinds of shots, bees covered with pollen! It's very early in the season, haven't seen them yet over here, at least not in urban areas.

very nice picture! I think this must be the queen bumblebee, looking for a place to make her new nest. The others aren´t out yet, because she´s the only one that survived the winter. Or at least, that´s how I learned it. So probaby it´s a she, not a he! :-)

Wonderful shot. I love that he covered with pollen. When he gets home, his wife is going to say to him, "Just look at the state of you! I gave you bags to put it in, but did you put it in the bags? ....etc ..etc."
