Relationships are like birds,
If you hold tightly they die
If you hold loosely, they fly
But if you hold with care,
They remain with you forever.
At an anniversary party this evening for friends at a local lake, I noticed this nest on one of the rafters at the shelterhouse. Poor mama starling was trying to feed her hungry babies, and was hampered by the humans on the benches below her nest. But every so often, she would brave the people and fly in with food.
Great shot. We have swallows at two of the cafes we frequent - they chose where to build their nest , so I think they know the risks. One of these cafes is run by a chines friend. She says it is very bad luck to destroy the nest, so she happily cleans up the debris around two of her out door tables. We all take it in our stride and get on with enjoying our coffee and conversatiion.
