Found this on PP.....love the words and the picture. My emotions are presently just under the surface and your words brought a tear to my eye. I see you tag this blanket flower, is it in the sunflower or rudbekia family? I notice your name as well....I work in the genealogy world do you? fav

@Cherrill Thanks for the fav and follow. I usually post quotes with my photo narratives, but this image seemed to beg for text. I originally shared it with friends on Facebook because we lost a family member this week and another friend's mother passed away the same day. Yes, I am addicted to genealogy! As for the flower, it is a Gaillardia, a genus of flowering plants in the sunflower family native to North and South America. It was named after an M. Gaillard de Charentonneau, an 18th-century French magistrate who was a patron of botany.

Thank you for your reply and I understand your text, I lost my mum last year and anything like this sets me off!! Ah yes Gaillardia, I remember them as a summer flower when I was a child. They seem a bit out of fashion now.
