My Dear Jane quilt top is finally finished and hand basted. I have brought the backing fabric to the front and tacked it in place while I quilt the top by hand. The triangles will be bordered by scallops which I will cut when the quilting is finished. I had my first hand quilting lesson last Saturday. By the time I finish quilting I will be an expert! There are 5,301 piecies of fabric in the top which includes sashings, setting squares, borders and the backing fabric. I started working on the quilt in Oct 08. I aim to have the quilt completely finished by April next year to display at my quilt groups next exhibition.
