Warmth and rest at McDonald's

I shot this image of an apparently homeless man who walked into McDonald's recently, with these two large bundles of possessions. He looked to be in need of some kind of sustenance, so I asked him if i could buy him some breakfast after he had been there for awhile, without getting anything to eat or drink. He turned my offer down and then spread his belongings out in front of him, as you see in this picture, as if to say to everyone: "leave me alone," which is what I then did. Being currently unemployed for the first time in my life, I have a better sense of the fact that with just a few hard breaks, one's life can take unexpected turns. My Dad's frequent quote ins now much better understood as well .... "There, but for the grace of God go I."
You were very kind to offer breakfast, all the same, and your Dad's quote is one we could all do to remember as it is so very true. Hope something turns up for you soon

We see this situation too much nowadays and a good number are to proud to take any charity. It was certainly a kind offer you made Glover. The quote is an apt one. I also feel for these guys as a number of years ago I was made redundant and out of work for around 3 months.

Your shot definitely tells a story, and with the additional narrative it make this photo that much more inspirational and reflective.

I like your good attitude. It touches me a lot.
Such human destinies make me very thoughtful. I think this world is rich enough for all people on earth to live in dignity and in good conditions. It would be the job of politics to work in this sense. As long as there are people who have no shelter, no decent and regular income, can not live in dignity, as long as this world is not human. Unfortunately, the rich are getting richer and the rest are left behind.
