Many of you know that I have a brutal travel schedule for work - I pretty much travel each week, either somewhere in Australia or throughout parts of Asia. America and Europe usually get a look in every 6 months or so. This morning I was flying to Brisbane for a day trip and I took this photo on the way back. If you can see thru the dirty window, you can see the Qantas kangaroo on the wing! This was straight out of my iPhone, no filters!
Well done in focusing on the kangaroo...Gosh, you certainly do travel extensively. My niece changed jobs recently because her work travel was taking her away from her family too much. She landed a super job that allows her to work at home two days a week.
I thought you changed jobs so you wouldn't have to travel so much!!!! I do love this capture though :) And hello to Poppo @terryliv who is still sneaking about every so often :)
Interesting that Flashback Friday has led me down the rabbit hole of your photographs, and I see that you and I are on airplanes a lot! A few years ago some of us decided to use the tag "planescape" to indicate the views we see out of airplane windows! And, I now see that you do live in Australia!
@jyokota Hi Junko! So nice of you to comment on many of my photos! I think we used to follow each other quite a few years back. Yes, I live in Melbourne, Australia! I travel soooooo much for work so I'm always behind in posting my photos..........off to South Korea next weekend for work and then New York for my 50th! Whoop, whoop - now that's a plane trip I'm excited about :)
@gigiflower -- I don't know how it happens but sometimes we get "unlinked" from people we follow. Imagine my surprise when I had to re-follow Taffy with whom I joined 365, and we were each other's only followers at first. In any case, glad to be reconnected. But wait -- you're going to South Korea next weekend -- I'll be in Seoul May 5-15 -- will you still be there ???
@gigiflower -- technically for work, but always includes pleasure. So sad to miss you -- do you go there often? This is my third trip in the past 9 months. And to make matters worse for our scheduling, I'll be in NYC the weekend you will be in Korea, and then we will flip! I love NYC and would go there for any excuse I could find. or could fabricate.
@jyokota HA! I'll wave to you as we pass each other in the sky! WOW I have also been to South Korea 3 times in the past 12 months however I think this will be my last trip there for another 12 months. I'm so very excited about being in NYC - I haven't been there since 2005 and I know there has been so much change! I was just looking at photos of the Oculus - OMG I can't wait to get there!!!
Oculus -- definite stop. We had a 365 meetup there. https://365project.org/jyokota/365/2017-03-02
Enjoy NYC!
Sigh -- we might have been able to meet in Korea if we kept up better . . .
@gigiflower --I'm planning to be in Australia within the next year. I met up with @annied last time. If I can catch you in Australia next trip -- given you are not off to some far-flung place, it would be fun. I haven't been in Melbourne for over a decade. My friend lives in Perth so I will definitely go there. I loved learning about photography in Tasmania so maybe there for a photography class/workshop. They do group workshops and weekend/multi-day trips as well.
@gigiflower -- @annied and my husband and I went to the Sydney zoo together and she is the BEST person to go to the zoo with because she has such a passion for and knowledge about animals. Memorably fun day together. My husband's first academic appointment was at LaTrobe, and we were in Melbourne together as he walked his memory lane. It will be hard to go to Melbourne without him, but then, it's been hard for me to go or do much of anything without him.
