Newsbreak - Australia has been discovered!

This is a little known outcrop on our coast that needs little explanation - well in my eyes anyway! it is not marked on any maps or mentioned in any tourism news. You cannot see it from the road or any of the coves and bays, so have to walk through overgrowth and then across rocks to another outcrop. Then once on top, this is what you see! I hadn't been there for 12 years and it's still the same :)
Mother nature shaping another Oz... good spotting..

Amazing find Denise. Love it

Well spotted, with the start of that arch at the bottom it could turn become a UK Durdle Door

Isn't that something — a rock formation shaped like your country! I like your title for this picture. Thanks for making the trek for us.

@julzmaioro Thanks Julia. Just in case we need a new Oz :)
@hermann @girlie @flyrobin @thistle Thanks. It is an amazing place and I'm surprised no one has "cashed in" on the tourism side - but pleased too as it's still the same 12 years on :)
@pixiemac Thanks Sarah, but what is a UK Durdle Door?
@callymazoo @anazad511 @nanm Thanks for great comments. It is an amazing site to see :)
@lynnilou Thanks Lyn. See, we are always finding things in things :)
@sailingmusic Thanks for the fav Myrna. It was a lot of fun to go looking for it again. And of course I took 2 friends with me too :)
@peterlgrave Thanks Peter. Not quite sure how you would fish from 50-70 feet straight down off the cliff :)
@denisefuller @thresheg Thanks for great comments and fav :)
@tellefella Thanks John. I'm surprised it still is quite a secret :)
@lyndemc Thanks Denise. As you can see I'm finding things in things too! The trek to it was a lot of fun - I had 2 friends come with me :)

Love this picture and story

Quite amazing that you don't notice any change in all that time especially when the apostles keep disappearing into the sea. Great find.

@ethelperry @bella_ss Thanks Ethel & Sheralee. I even got the 12 year old photo out of my album to compare them and cannot see any erosion! Whereas in the other picture of Childer's Cove, there was a stack in the middle, but it has washed away :)

What an awesome looking formation. Sometimes it's nice to find something as special as this which hasn't been "spoilt". Great capture. :)

I recognize this rock formation from other 365er's contributions in the past. Being that it's not well known thanks for sharing it with the rest of the world!

This is really cool. When I go through Carlsbad Caverns I often make note of small formations that mimic larger ones, but I've never seen a formation mimic an entire continent. Thanks for the trek, the photo and the story.

What a great selfie Denise, but your looking a bit stern and frowning a bit. Glad you have your crown on to show your majestic appearance, when did you break your nose by the way. Super capture and a FAV from me (Wink).

Perhaps it's "an Australian thing"...that sense of adventure and love of place! On a visit to see friends outside Sydney, the eldest daughter, (many years my junior) loved to take me out for walks & hikes and show me the discoveries she'd made! One walk (I'd have to ask her again where we were) we were holding saplings as we inched our way toward a waterfall "she'd discovered"...and she said there was am amazing surprise there as well! In short, where we finally reached it, she said, "Do you see it?" I looked and looked to find this "illusive & mysterious whatever"! We were perched on a huge flat outcropping over which water flowed , creating a waterfall below us. And then I saw the lines...an immense whale-like petroglyph was then easily discernible, almost outlining the space of the outcropping! I suspect Australia has a lot of secrets like yours and Melinda's just waiting to be discovered!
