And we didn't go home this way! by gilbertwood

And we didn't go home this way!

We were looking around the valleys and came across this closed road. No, we didn't drive through it - just took photos before turning around :)
Now that's just showing off after my image yesterday, great lead in and depth of field its a lovely image Denise:)

Half a metre of flood is enough to wash you away!! Great shot

It is very interesting to see these images. I would hate to be caught in floods or fires.

You have had so much rain Denise, judging by the metre post the creek is a flooder :)

Wish we get some of that extra water you have there. Beautiful to watch but dangerous to cross. Another gorgeous capture in this series.

You guys have had so luch rain lately... lucky you had an alternate route
September 13th, 2016
Yep, still looks like my area. I hope to go exploring more on Thursday. ...in the rain! Fabulous shot of the swollen creek & causeway

Bep
This looks rather dangerous to cross...
September 13th, 2016
Dear me, that is a lot of water!
September 13th, 2016
Looks decidedly dangerous.
September 13th, 2016
wise choice.
September 13th, 2016
Wise move not to cross. I have seen people stuck because the didn't gauge the depth of the flooded areas. Best to take the long way round to be safe.
September 13th, 2016
Same comment as Babs. You were very wise to turn around!
September 13th, 2016
This looks like Spring in our area!
September 13th, 2016
Yikes! Glad you didn't try to ford the river, and there were safer roads around.
September 13th, 2016
A wise move, judging by the debris in the tree, it looks like it was much higher.
September 13th, 2016
good idea
September 13th, 2016
Good thing you did not cross this flooded area.
September 13th, 2016
I don't think it would be worth taking a chance crossing that bridge. The current looks rather strong
September 13th, 2016
Very glad you turned around. The strength of water is always more than you realise!
September 13th, 2016
Looks quite badly flooded, very wise to turn back
September 13th, 2016
Best avoided! Great capture though!
September 13th, 2016
That's a lot of water! Smart to turn around!
September 13th, 2016
that's definitely a 'wash your car away' crossing!
September 13th, 2016
Scary
September 14th, 2016
Oh No, glad you could go around!
September 14th, 2016
Wow... that's a lot of water!
September 14th, 2016
Glad you followed the motto "If it's flooded, forget it". Not sure if that is just Qld, but there are so many that would take the chance, and risk being swept away.
September 14th, 2016
Wow, cant get over all of the flooding that is going on. Great shot.
September 14th, 2016
Wow! Amazing shot!
September 14th, 2016
