And we didn't go home this way!
We were looking around the valleys and came across this closed road. No, we didn't drive through it - just took photos before turning around :)

Half a metre of flood is enough to wash you away!! Great shot

It is very interesting to see these images. I would hate to be caught in floods or fires.

You have had so much rain Denise, judging by the metre post the creek is a flooder :)

Wish we get some of that extra water you have there. Beautiful to watch but dangerous to cross. Another gorgeous capture in this series.

Wise move not to cross. I have seen people stuck because the didn't gauge the depth of the flooded areas. Best to take the long way round to be safe.

Same comment as Babs. You were very wise to turn around!

Yikes! Glad you didn't try to ford the river, and there were safer roads around.

A wise move, judging by the debris in the tree, it looks like it was much higher.

I don't think it would be worth taking a chance crossing that bridge. The current looks rather strong

Glad you followed the motto "If it's flooded, forget it". Not sure if that is just Qld, but there are so many that would take the chance, and risk being swept away.
