This is our own Hopkin's Falls (15 kms away) that are truly raging at the moment with all this rain in our part of the state. The falls are 90 metres wide with a drop of 12 metres. The drop now is only half of that, as the river widens and floods from the falls. Also fascinating today was the spray blowing back up the falls in the s/w winds.
Gosh, that is a LOT of water & looks special powerful & spectacular. Great composition & love the spray created from the wind. It got very windy here too.....and very wintery!
What a sound that must be to go along with the beautiful image! Floods are never good, and here in California, and around us in Nova Scotia as well, people would gladly take some of that water off your hands! Always interesting how one place has "too much"...another, "too little"... (And when it changes, WE will have flooding!)
@onewing Hi Babs!!!! Hoping you are well and not as wet as poor ol' Melbourne (and Victoria) is! Looking forward to one dry day this weekend so I can do a little bit of gardening!
What a beautiful capture of Hopkins Fall great to see the falls flowing so well Fav.
