A new phenomenon for me!

I was totally amazed this morning when I spotted this "steam" rising from the ocean - I've never seen anything like this before! It was -0.8C degrees - which is very unusual for us on the coast. I'm pleased I was up early to witness it :) And I later googled it to see if it was true - and it is!

It looks quite eerie doesn't it. We get it a lot here when it is either very cold or very hot.

Once we were at the café at Birubi Beach and it was about 36 degrees c and the sea mist rolled in. It looked so strange as surfers were disappearing into the mist.

Very cool- looks almost like the mist we get rising from the ponds and lakes here in the fall- but it's the ocean!
