I’ve been out to a friend’s house today, meeting up with others for coffee, lunch and chat. Sadly, one of my friends was unable to join us as she had just had her cat put to sleep.
I didn’t take any photos. This shot is of the coffee table in my mother’s home, taken a few days ago. My parents bought this coffee table 40 years ago and it has been the bane of our lives for the rest of us. Over the years my husband, daughters and myself have been continually told “mind the coffee table, don’t put anything on the table”. I had to transport it in my car when my mum moved as she wouldn’t trust the removal men with it. We’ve had to walk around it but it serves no useful purpose. It had never had a cup of coffee put down on it, not even on a coaster. Not even a piece of paper has ever been put down on it. Not allowed.
A few days ago, I watched in surprise as my mum put her cup and saucer down on the table and left the room. I quickly took a shot with my phone as I knew my family would never believe me! 😱
