Do we get two pots of gold with this one? A nicely-cool overcast morning here, for a change, and I walked out onto the back deck a few minutes ago to find this rainbow arching across the Macleay River. I post this as a tribute to New Zealanders on a day when we're all feeling desperately sad for them after the Christchurch earthquake.
This is an exquisite photo Robin! I have NEVER seen a rainbow captured as magnificently as this EVER. What a lovely post for the people of NZ today as well.
Robin, this has to be the most spectacular rainbow shot I have ever seen. The colors, the arc (it's so low to the horizon), the sky, those little pine branches in the corner. . . . just perfect. Definitely a fav. Perfectly composed and a wonderful tribute to your neighbors. I've been watching the news . . . just devastating.
@ellida@pixelchix Thanks Graham and Heather. @zferrie Thanks Zoe. I looked hard but no gold to be found unfortunately. @geertje Thanks Geertje, very much. @judithdeacon Thanks Judith. My camera is just a point and shoot but is still a bit of a weapon, I think. As for my eyes, sorry but I'm hanging on to them!
@petersonsheri Thanks Sheri. Yes, it was an amazing sight. We often get amazing weather phenomena after a NZ earthquake and just wondering if it's connected...
@tanagerjohn @maggie2 @sarasdadandmom @pfmandeville Thanks John, Margaret, Terry and Pamela.
@stepheesue Thanks Stephanie. Yes, seriously!
@mwingerson Thanks Meredith. @swrws Susan, much gratitude for your kind comment.
