Requiem for Pea Flowers by girlie

Requiem for Pea Flowers

I recently went bushwalking in Hat Head National Park on the lookout for wildflowers and came across a glorious carpet of tiny bright yellow and blue native Australian Pea Flowers, so I took a few shots. The following day an early bushfire swept through the area, and when I went back today I found all the tiny pea flowers have now disappeared. They should come back, but not this year unfortunately. I'm glad I took a few shots while I had the chance. Each of these flowers is no bigger than the head of a small tack.
Beautiful! This looks like what I know as a "Sweet Pea"...a favorite of mine because it's my birth month flower (April).

Thanks for your appreciation, Peggy. Yes, I know the Sweet Pea; these ones are native flowers and very much smaller than sweet peas. They have no scent, unlike Sweet Peas. Of course all pea flowers have much the same general appearance.

Colours are wonderful in this...never seen them they are gorgeous and sort of suit the stunning Australian landscapes better than the sweet pea variety, great shot!

Beautiful shot of these tiny pea plants! Never seen a yellow pea plant or one as small as a tack. Love the framing & collage effects, works well with the vibrant colors.

The color contrasts are excellent in these shots. I have some peas growing in my garden, and you're right, the flowers are very tiny. Great shots!
