Cordyline flower by girlie

Cordyline flower

This is the flower that's slowly beginning to open on my Cordyline. It's very unusual, almost prehistoric-looking. Cordylines can be found in other parts of the world but this one is an Australian native. It's never flowered before so I'm interested to see how it finishes up. It has a very sweet scent, much like a frangipani (plumeria).
Interesting flower - Nice shot!

This is very cool and bizarre-looking! Prehistoric--yes, that would definitely be the word. Thanks for posting what it smelled like too--that would have been my question!

Beautiful...never seen any flowers like these before. You have amazing flora and fauna in your country. I must visit some day! Thanks for all the wonderful comments....and I swear the mishap was not caused by too much wine! I was good. I only had a couple of glasses and a sip here and there.
