Old Kinchela home by girlie

Old Kinchela home

This must be one of the oldest abandoned homes in the district. It's at Kinchela, on the road to nearby Hat Head and I love the outside chimney made of tin.
My sister, when she sees fallen down buildings, says 'lots of potential there'. Even she would find this a challenge - it makes you think of those who used to live here.

Robin, I love this shot. I think these old building are such great subjects. Lots of character. Great editing to get these rich colors.

Interesting old building. I love the color. I would want to comb the area for artifacts that someone has left behind.

@miranda Miranda: Yes, I can't imagine bringing up a whole tribe of kids in this; @hockechic @wac @pinktornado39 @jillpearce Thanks for your great comments; @omabluebird Susan: It would be tempting, but it would also be full of deadly things like snakes and spiders, so best to stay away!

Such a wonderful old building. As I was looking at it I was wondering what might be living in there now...then I read your response to Susan and it confirmed what I was thinking. Beautifully photographed from a safe distance, Robin.

This is a great picture of an old home. It's hard to imagine what it was to live in it.

@farmboy9155 Yes, know what you mean, Darrell. There are so many of them around here and many of them have been abandoned because of deregulation of the dairying industry.
