Pelicans can look ridiculously funny sometimes, as some of my recent shots have shown, but they can also be beautiful and majestic. I think this one's in the latter category.

They have a certain dignity I think, they are such elegant fliers and even though slightly comic on land, they are natural photo subjects.

Agree with you commentary!!!! this is a gorgeous pose/capture...he really looks elegant...and a totally different bird!...What was he wswimmong in that was yellowish?

@ruthmouch Thanks, Ruth. The yellow colour is the sand underneath the water, which is very clear here.
