Return of the Water Dragon by girlie

Return of the Water Dragon

I found this one sunning itself on the bricks near my house the other day. Its tail is long and hangs down to the ground but I wanted to get a good shot of the splayed claws. The weather is warming up and the water dragons are coming out during the day to get their body heat up on the bricks and pavers. A rather despicable person in the neighbourhood has recently been caught killing these poor creatures with a spade. She's being taken to court and will incur hefty fines as they are protected.
Such a beautiful shot with great detail and wonderful tones, fav!

Its very clear and well focused. I don't think we have dragons - except on Welsh flags! Karma to that awful lady!

@mwhipple This one is about 18 in long in the body excluding the tail, which is very long, about twice as long again. But they grow much bigger. We have all sizes living around and under our house.
