if you come to close she will act like she has a broken wing and lead you away to follow her and not bother the eggs. smart little bird.
Great portrait. @glendq Had one do that to me last trip to the beach (broken wing), but never could find a nest, even with heavy brush close by would think they would nest in cover.

she was a bit nervous with me around so i did not stay too long. i want to see the babies though.
@byrdlip they just have a little indent for their nest with a few rocks ringing it. it is just there with all of the other rocks and it is hard to find if she is not on the nest.

It is amazing where birds will nest. A few years ago there was a plover that chose to have a nest on a traffic island at the entrance to our work. They too nest on the ground and the partner was very busy chasing all the cars that went by!. Can't remember if the chicks survived.
