I came across this tree in the school grounds. At first I thought - Mmmm bored boarder - nice artwork ~! but that seems to be impossible ! the " charcoal like " etchings ran down the entire tree , almost as if something had , indeed ran down the side of the tree , causing the stump to look ashen . I have no idea what kind of tree it is and will endeavour to find out if there aren't any 365ers who can enlighten me !
We have trees here in Oklahoma that leave a black stain. But I'm pretty sure those are Hickory trees and this is definitely not a hickory tree. That is gorgeous! I love finding natural things like this.
