Water-hole, Bunyeroo Gorge by golftragic

Water-hole, Bunyeroo Gorge

This is one of the very few sightings of surface water we saw on our escorted 4WD day-trip. A family of emus was making good use of this spot.
Sounds like a very remote place Marnie. I wouldn't like to get lost out there!

Yes it is pretty remote Pam. Access to this, and many other, of the gorges is only possible by 4WD vehicles. My Peugeot made it OK on some of the better tracks, but even they were rough enough. So long as you stayed on a road in shade with plenty of water you'd be found - this area is popular with tourists, and the locals know where to search anyway. That is, assuming someone knew roughly where you were headed.

Those reeds in the water are such a different green to the typical Australia green. Lovely shot.

@onewing The whole area has fascinating geology, wish I knew a bit more about it. We were told an awful lot, but didn't retain enough of the detail.
