Sorry, more old photos today. Weather is terrible and I'm home with a cold. This man is stoking a brick kiln with the rice hulls on the shelf above him. Hot work, but a great example of recycling. Rice hulls are very fibrous and no good for stock feed or much else.
Doesn't look like much fun. What about mulch?

@joysabin Not much fun, very hot! You can use rice hulls for mulch, but they blow away in high winds, take yonks to break down (very fibrous) contain little nutrient. High transport costs too unless you live near rice-growing regions. In short, lots of better stuff around.

This looks so good on the black background! It seems a very environmentally friendly way to obtain fuel - better than lots of other alternatives.
