I love travelling these country roads, lovely shot.

Stunningly barren looking mountains!

Incredible.

Love the open spaces :)

Every time I see a photo like this I think of our daughter Deb's ex mother in law. She thinks that Australia is really crowded but has lived in Doncaster East all of her life and hasn't even travelled out of Victoria. I don't think she even realizes that roads like this exist.

Love those empty endless roads.....
July 13th, 2019
Wish they were like this over here!

Instant favourite! Reminds me of driving through the Red Centre and out into the Simpson desert. Wide open roads, scrubby bushlands and low mountains. Just fab!
July 13th, 2019
After what time do you start to doubt whether this is the right road?
July 13th, 2019
@taffy And it goes on like that for hundreds of Km with only one or two very small settlements.
July 14th, 2019
@kwind Thanks
July 14th, 2019
@julzmaioro Thanks Julz, another shot taken under time pressure unfortunately.

@momamo In the daytime, yes. At night, no. Too many kangaroos and other livestock.

@robz Yeah, and so incredibly old in geological terms.
July 14th, 2019
@dide Thanks
July 14th, 2019
@gilbertwood Yeah, me too. If I weren't so old and decrepit I'd move back to the bush in a flash.
July 14th, 2019
@onewing I do hope you're kidding!!! I didn't think people like that existed!!!
July 14th, 2019
@angelikavr Yeah, me too.
July 14th, 2019
@fbailey The roads in the more climatically benign parts of Oz have the usual traffic problems. The part of the world shown here is very sparsely settled with no sizeable towns for hundreds of Km.
July 14th, 2019
@casablanca Thanks Casa. I haven't got to see the Simpson Desert yet, but more inland trips are on our agenda.
July 14th, 2019
@haskar Since it's the only decent road you can put your mind at rest pretty quickly.
July 14th, 2019
@golftragic nope not kidding
July 14th, 2019
@onewing Un[blank blanking]believable. In 2019!!!!
