Maggie and I were out walking a few days ago when I saw a bloke I know about to take his motor-baby out for a spin. I love old MGs so we talked for ages. @dide Oh definitely has to be British racing green IMO. He's done a huge amount of work on it, I think I heard every little detail of it too. I even understood bits of the description from time to time.
@golftragic -- I didn't know my husband when he had his MGB as a college student and he talked about how beautiful -- and how frustrating to keep fixed that car was. The funny thing is that I used to have a car that color, and the car sales people called it "Gucci Green" -- it was a British Sterling and I loved that car. It had camel suede seats.
A very long time ago I had a friend with an MG TF and he was always under the bonnet. As for the green, I've never heard of the Gucci nomenclature, here it's always been British Racing Green. Back when racing cars actually bore some resemblance to normal cars (and not covered in ads) the Brits' team cars were that colour.
