Surprise, surprise by golftragic

Surprise, surprise

This little flower was growing in an expanse of rocks and bare ground. Mother Nature is truly amazing. My thanks to @annied who tells me that it's a Wurmbea stellata (Liliaceae) or Starry Star-lily.
Surprised to see a flower, or surprised to see it’s your image? Looks great against the harsh rock.

@dide Both, I guess. I loved this little flower growing in a most unforgiving spot.

It truly is- plants seem to find a way to grow in places no one would ever think possible! Great shot.

Did you see any wallabies?
July 9th, 2019
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann.

@annied No, not this time. We were only there for one full day, neither of us can tackle the walks and the 4WD trips were day-long and horrendously dear. We spent a week at Rawnsley Park a few years ago and saw wallabies and lots of other stuff that time. The geology was my favourite 'thing'.

So tenacious! What a lovely surprise to stumble upon (I hope not literally stumbling, of course).

@taffy No, thank goodness, no stumbles. Just wonder at this little flower in that spot.
