Uplift

The geology of the Flinders Ranges is very interesting. Wilpena Pound is part of the northern stretch and has some good examples of uplifted strata like this. Taken from the bus at highway speed and turned into b&w when I couldn't do anything with the colour cast from the window glass.
Beautiful landscape shot

@bkbinthecity thank you.

I always find it amazing when you have flat landscape and suddenly these huge ranges standing there. I didn’t know the term uplifted strata but that’s just what it is.

You solve it well, attractive b&w

Great choice Marnie, I have learned something today ;-)

Looks good in B&W - and a great image shot from a moving vehicle.

very effective :)

Well done. You are a real expert in making great pictures on the move.

I am totally amazed by your in motion shots

@pamknowler This stretch of country has the most amazing array of geology from several different eras. Far beyond my ability to explain in any meaningful fashion, sorry.

@momamo Thanks Monique. I'm sure there are other methods but this worked reasonably well this time.

@ludwigsdiana That's always a good day isn't it?
July 12th, 2019
@dide Thanks Dianne. Given the three very long days we were in the bus/coach I had plenty of practice.

@gilbertwood Thanks Denise. Blown away yet??

@haskar Some turned out OK, others not so good.

@jgpittenger Thanks Jane, needs must when the devil drives.

It looks even starker in black and white. Good idea to convert- it usually does save the day in a number of scenarios!

@olivetreeann Thanks Ann, the colour cast is not terribly strong, but definitely noticeable, very much so in some shots. I know there's a good way to eliminate it, just need to revisit a video I have, then play in Photoshop.

@dide @haskar @jgpittenger My thanks to each and every one of you lovely people. I was fortunate in that the coach was very stable and most of the roads pretty good. I was particularly pleased with the performance of that lens, not to mention surprised. Plenty of duds, of course, but a surprising number of OK on-the-move shots.
