Three weeks ago I had a very unlucky day. Just walking with a friend. She had lost her footing on the gravel and literally landed on my ankle with her 100 kilos body. She got up with no injury sustained but I ended up with a complex fracture of my lower leg and an ankle. I have spent a week in a hospital, needed an operation, ended up with a plate, wire and several screws. This photo was taken just two days ago on my first trip to the specialist for a review. We stopped in botanical gardens for a short visit so I could see a world outside my four walls now. I hope to get on the computer more often now as my leg is getting less sore. It will take time to get me going, that is for sure.
Oh dear, so sorry to read about you misfortune That certainly was a freak accident. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you will be more mobile soon.
Oh good grief what a freak accident .. One way to break your friends fall, but a little extreme... I hope your friend is doing things to help you out ..
Oh no I wondered what had happened to you. I have been where you are at after I fractured my ankle a few years ago. I have plates and screws too. I hope you are not in too much pain
@onewing Thanks Babs, it is nice to know someone will understand what you going through. I hope you are recovered well from it. I was in a lot of pain for the first weeks but now I am much better.
wow that's awful - I hope that friend has been taking a lot of care of you and helping out. it will be a while to recover, but do all you are told so you get back in one go!
Oh, Gosia -- this is/was terrible! I had the same injury while sleep walking years ago but now have had the plate and screws removed and only suffer from minor arthritis in that ankle. I hope you are completely recovered by now!
