I have heard of that bird, but didn't realize they were in the kingfisher family. Very attractive shot, super clear with an interesting background.

We used to sing a sing in grade school; "laugh Kookaburra, laugh Kookaburra laugh...." I've never seen one before, so thanks for sharing this picture!

So they are kingfishers? I used to wonder why our kingfishers (blue/gray ones) reminded me of the kookaburra so mu ch!
