You're a bad, bad man. by graemestevens

You're a bad, bad man.

There are evil people everywhere. There are murderers, rapists, pedophiles, thieves, lawyers, bullies, rap "artists", war-mongers, drug dealers and dentists to name but a few. In the grand scheme of things is it really that bad to set fire to a decapitated sheep in the privacy of my own garden?
It is now buried deeply and covered with lime to encourage decomposition (and to discourage critter activity). I'll dig it up again in a month or two and "hey presto" I'll have a rather gnarly, swanky and very cool skull to position somewhere in the garden. Or possibly to mount on the car as a hood ornament.
Best viewed against the black if you can stomach that one sightless eye for that long...
Vegan that I am I'd rather have seen a burning pedophiles head.....or two.;)

oh F*** I returned to the home page and this was staring at me - I feel you may have achieved the laugh and scare at the same time - I knew it was you and that was scary hahahahaha
August 6th, 2014
Graeme, you are a truly twisted man, but somehow I like it, which probably does not say a whole lot about me! It must be because I am a pyro myself, or maybe because I grew up where they used to slaughter sheep in the name of God, and skewer them and cook them in deep pits in the ground! In any case, very intriguing picture, and no, I do not want to know where you got that sheep head!
August 6th, 2014
@mzzhope I couldn't agree more - I think they should all be rounded up and treated to this, just not necessarily on their heads...
@annied LOL, You've just made my day. I thank you most sincerely.
August 6th, 2014
@panthora Yes I am, but I'm aware of it which makes it easier to deal with...and I'm so pleased you're a pyro too!!! I actually got the head from a client of mine at a processing plant, so perfectly innocent...I've been waiting for it for the last two weeks, trying my hardest not to bust myself out of sheer excitement! And also, thank you very much :)
August 6th, 2014
Pyro! :) Great photo!
August 6th, 2014
@graemestevens oh I love it when I make someones day!
August 6th, 2014
@hopess13 Yes! Thanks very much :)
@annied I'll be giggling like a schoolgirl through to dinner time I think...
August 6th, 2014
Jae
FANTASTIC, especially big and black! Kudos to you! I'll take one of my moose skull!
August 6th, 2014
Oh no you didn't. Did it smell good or awful. YIKES, but sorta cool, I gotta admit it.
August 6th, 2014
@lifepause Oh my god...now I want a moose skull!!! Thanks very much :)
August 6th, 2014
Jae
@graemestevens Y'elcome!
August 6th, 2014
@amandal Oh yes I did...actually, it was kind of barbecue like - disturbingly so. I'm so wrong on so many levels ;) And thank you very much :)
August 6th, 2014
@graemestevens oh I can feel how much you enjoyed this too - beware of feeling flat when the euphoria wears off - I hope your next project will keep you on a high
August 6th, 2014
@annied With my ever increasing girth I never feel flat!
August 6th, 2014
I have heard of guys burring their deer skulls in swamps, deep in the mud. They say it will turn the skull black mud color. I haven't tried it yet
August 6th, 2014
My get pushed challenge this week is fire/flames... might I borrow this shot for a few days please? On second thoughts....
August 6th, 2014
@wildernesswillie Wow, might have to look into that now that I know I have a ready supply of "heads"...
@vignouse That's a bit exciting - I look forward to seeing what you produce. Ados glue burns very, very well...if you're quick and have a large body of water nearby, Methylated Spirits is excellent for setting fire to yourself as the vapour burns before anything else (although it is quite hot...)
August 6th, 2014
Sam
I've decided to show my staff this photo just to remind that how I feel about them some days...........
August 6th, 2014
@gigiflower You go for it - use it for as long as you need to keep them in line ;)
August 6th, 2014
@graemestevens phttt girth - ha!
August 6th, 2014
@annied It's not my fault - young Kim is a superb baker and it would be downright rude not to indulge
August 6th, 2014
@graemestevens it would indeed - you must not refuse her baked goods ;-)
August 6th, 2014
@annied I never refuse any of her goods...
August 6th, 2014
@graemestevens and there it ends hahahahahahaha
August 6th, 2014
Oh my God! You forgot to take your medecine again! Show you pictures to your boss and ask for a raise! You'll have on the spot! Love your shot, love the description! Love all your work!
August 6th, 2014
@daneau I know...I had a nagging doubt that I'd forgotten something this morning! And thank you very, very much :)
@annied Yes, I think so. :)
August 6th, 2014
1 - i saw flames and immediately knew it was you
2 - you put lawyers, dentists and rap artists in the same bucket
3 - you freakin' acquired AND burned a sheep's head

i bow down in awe ;D
August 6th, 2014
@northy
1. Guilty as charged.
2. Damn straight
3. Yep...seemed like a good idea to me...
4. Thank you very, very much, always appreciated.
August 6th, 2014
Wow, amazing!
August 6th, 2014
@sassyinma Thank you very much :)
August 6th, 2014
This is awesome!
August 6th, 2014
Sam
I'm so disappointed that Ms @newbank has gone away for a few days.
August 6th, 2014
@spanner Thank very much :)
@gigiflower So am I - my only consolation is that you're still here to poke fun at me. Oh wait, you're not doing that anymore. How disappointingly dull.
August 6th, 2014
WOW!!
August 6th, 2014
@aprilmilani Thanks very much :) Really rather pleased with it myself :)
August 6th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens Yes I'm very dull. No teasing. And certainly not after that picture of the burning sheeps head. That could be/have been me!
August 6th, 2014
@gigiflower I tried to set fire to myself two weeks ago, but it didn't go as planned. It ended with me standing on the deck furiously patting down my head with some kevlar gloves on...I had a fire proof hood on but the flames was so "robust" that it managed to get inside the hood with me and get a bit too friendly for my liking. I'm still trying to think of a way to do that shot, so until I do I think you're quite safe.
August 6th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens Phew. However I'm only just a short plane ride away..........oh, did your lovely wife not help you or did she leave you burning?
August 6th, 2014
@gigiflower She was at work at the time - I tend to do all of my fire shots when I'm alone so as not to distress the family...they have enough to put up with already. She did laugh hysterically when I told her though...which I had to because she noticed the rapid thinning of my eyebrows...
August 6th, 2014
Wow, this is really fantastic on black. I love the back and forth with Sam @gigiflower too! You set yourself on fire, crazy man!
August 6th, 2014
Um........ great flames!

I also love that you listed rap "artists" as evil because I feel the same way.
August 6th, 2014
Wow...just Wow! I am speechless about the sheeps head lol ... I could just imagine being one of your friends and receiving a request like that....hmmmm Reanimator comes to mind! .... Brilliant shot by the way!
August 6th, 2014
I love when an artist puts them self out there. =D
August 6th, 2014
Eek...I thought it was photoshop -- but real? You really go far for the photo!
August 6th, 2014
Oh Graeme, you're so hot
August 6th, 2014
It makes a eerily disturbing shot with the eye looking at you. Looks a bit like a blazing Mohican, kind of extreme fashion!
August 6th, 2014
@bill_fe thanks very much...certifiably insane. And @gigiflower is just a bad influence
@eyeamlisa LOL, thanks...and I detest rap.
@creativefool Thanks very much...all my friends know I belong in a circus
@aprilmilani Thanks very much :)
@taffy It's real, no PS at all...thanks very much
@rocketman1066 LOL, blush. Flattery will get you...well, somewhere. And thanks :)
@wearing0 Now I have a "hat idea"...thanks...
August 6th, 2014
yes love it! push those boundaries, a true artist. FAV
August 6th, 2014
I'm glad I didn't get to this last night before I went to bed. The stuff of nightmares.
August 6th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens A bad influence? LOL, you see me burning flowers, teddy bears, sheep heads and myself?????
August 6th, 2014
@andrewkru Thank you very much indeed :)
@ceilidh It's not that bad...just think summer barbecue...
@gigiflower You raise a valid point which I choose ignore ;)
August 6th, 2014
Wow, so the fire is REAL! I have a friend who collects road kill and cleans up the skulls to display. He doesn't use fire but I forget what chemicals he uses.
August 6th, 2014
you actually burned this to do this! wow, just wow! And the skull will be awesome later.
August 6th, 2014
Your imagination is boundless. Wow!!
August 6th, 2014
Wow I can honestly say I have never seen a photo like this! Your photos are very unique Graeme thats probably why I like them, keep it up.
August 6th, 2014
Speechless! I have shot at a few 'recently deceased' sheep skulls with an air rifle (not much impact on brain matter as only small air rifle) but never have i set fire to one!! I clearly have not lived. I agree with @gigiflower Ms @newbank has to see this!
August 6th, 2014
what can I say, is this your usual BBQ offering?
August 6th, 2014
I'll have mine rare thanks
August 6th, 2014
@trinda Yep, it's all real...I think I'm going to need to get more
@shannejw Well, I have to do something in my lunch break...
@golftragic Thanks very much :)
@tracelee Thanks very much - very diplomatic of you to say "unique" ;)
@motherjane I've never shot one, so lets say we're even ;)
@pinkpaintpot I can throw in a salad if you like...
@terryliv Me too!
August 6th, 2014
salad! I would need a beer with that
August 6th, 2014
Now that's a barbie!! Brilliantly twisted, as usual Graeme...love it. Did you have a few beers out the chilly bin with that?
August 6th, 2014
Twisted, creepy, eerie, crazy, likeable - all YES!!! Amazing what you find to photograph! I was getting a good feeling about you the last few days, but now I wonder ;) ;) ;) Keep us guessing, we ALL love it!
August 6th, 2014
Oh now you've put the sheeps head amongst the pyrotechnics ....love this one...as a retired farmer doesn't bother me at all .but my word it shows a fantastic flame. What did you put on it to make it burn.....petrol? Mind the whoosh back if you did, don't want your hair going up too!
What's next I wonder!!
August 6th, 2014
Btw lamb was always my favourite meat....invite us all round the next time you are cooking please! Look forward to the resurrection in a few weeks!
August 6th, 2014
I was going to add and then there's Graeme to the list :))
August 6th, 2014
@pinkpaintpot It's not a BBQ without the booze!
@davie Thanks very much...it was lunchtime and I had to go back to work, so yes, beer was involved.
@lynnilou Thanks very much...I can never stay "good" for long...
@happypat Thanks very much - I did think of petrol at first but ended up using Ados glue which burns very nicely but without the flash back. And oddly enough, we had lamb for dinner last night...
@denisefuller Yep, then there's me...
August 6th, 2014
demon slayer.
August 6th, 2014
You just make me laugh, brilliantly creative. Love the dark side :-)
August 6th, 2014
All I can think is the smell.
Very dramatic.
August 6th, 2014
@blueberry1222 LOL, I don't know that I'd got hat far, but I see where you're coming from. In fact, I toyed with the idea of drawing a pentagram around it as well
@roseolivia Thanks very much :)
@yaorenliu Thanks - it wasn't that bad. I had expected it to be vile but no...
August 6th, 2014
Fav!! You took it to another level, I didn't even think that was possible. The color is pretty amazing here.
August 7th, 2014
@jess1204 Thanks so much :)
August 7th, 2014
Oh, man... that was amazingly disturbing... I can almost see this as the opening shot of a Clive Barker og Stephen King story...
August 8th, 2014
@bankmann I couldn't help myself. Something's just beg to be burned...
August 8th, 2014
Good thing there weren't any rappers performing in your area ;)
August 10th, 2014
@lisatown There were... ;)
August 10th, 2014
how do you do them?
September 7th, 2014
@soccergirl1112 This one...I got a sheets head from a farming friend, smothered it with a glue called Ados that gives a really nice, bright orange flame and then set it on fire. I've processed it in Google Picassa and just increased the shadows a bit. Some of the other flame shots I use petrol and methylated spirits but with all of them I have water/hose nearby and have to be very, very careful.
