I'm still not 100%, which could well explain this kind of image from me. I've seen the birds sitting in and feeding from the Pohutakawa Tree in our garden countless times, on a daily basis in fact, and have often thought that I should try and get in touch with my more delicate, sensitive side one day and take a photo of them. Today was that day, and as a result do you think that the little feathered bastards would play the game??? No, they bloody well would not and I had to stand around for about 45 minutes waiting for this shot. Mongrels.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
oh dear - take your temperature - check pulse - oh check everything - where is Graeme?
oh there he is - bloody bastard birds hahaha - fab silhouette - now go back to bed and moan some more and you will feel better
@maishanny Thanks very much :) @annied Thanks very much - I had no intention of it being a "silhouette shot" but I thought if I have to photograph bloody bastard birds then its going to be dark!
And delicate, sensitive side? Birds are ruthless creatures. Ruthless. Best get your game on! And feel better. I have missed so much, so I hope you are ok. :)
@darylo If they were really agents of the devil you'd think we'd be getting along famously, but I know what you're saying! Feeling slightly better thanks, so much so that this morning I managed to not go towards the light...
Haha, I have the same problem with many of the feathered variety that frequent the garden, I swear they see me reach for the camera hundreds of metres away or even inside the house. Maybe special bird powers. Great silhouettes especially the lower bird :-)
@hermann Thanks very much - it wasn't particularly warm out either @gigiflower@annied If I can survive working for a corporate giant I can survive Damien
Are you sure that is real Graeme. I would have expected some taxidermy to help you out, or a gun to scare the little bast...er blighters (what is wrong with this iPad it changed my 'b- lighters' to blight ears and on my second attempt dropped the 'b' so I had to put it back in! I think a fit of conniptions are called for!
@ceilidh yesterday for my rhyme iPad corrected my wellies for a male anatomy part....v inappropriate for a child's rhyme......what was wrong with wellies?!
@redy4et Thanks very much, I would have been happier if I was waiting with chocolate... @chippy1402 Let's just say there wouldn't be much wildlife left...and thanks very much @gigiflower@annied They were only movies. We're the real thing. @newbank I get so frustrated with Bill Gates and Steve Job thinking they know what we want to say! Enough I say! Stop ducking correcting me!!! And thanks awfully. @shannejw I seem to have a lot of shots of a tree with a space where a bird used to be...and thanks very much @andrewkru Thank you very much :)
I do have to pay attention to what it assumes I want to say! Even when the words are spelt right it decides I actually want something else.....grrumph. My new game is to make up words and see what it thinks I want to say. Grrumph in ipad is graph.
@gigiflower@newbank@graemestevens oh yes we are real - be afraid very afraid hahahahaha
oh all predictive text devices have you speaking gibberish - some of the messages I have sent - and I play those games too and see what it thinks I want to say
@gigiflower@newbank@graemestevens
I would throw in tumultuous, willy nilly and bombilate too because you will intimidate them with your clever vocabulary
apologies for the delay I was being beaten up - and doing a little back - at netball - pack of twats they were
@creativefool Thanks very much - as for the gun, I have dibs on it first! @gigiflower@annied Shudder - I'd hate to trip over a twat... @lilminimonka Thanks very much @wearing0 Thanks very much - they just have no respect for the nearly dead :( @denisefuller Thanks very much :) @jesperani Thank you very much, appreciated @pittcj17 Thanks very much as always :)
This is a great silhouette. Very very nice. I don't think you get along with birds very well? But your pictures turn out fantastic. I hope you are feeling better! K
@graemestevens Hilarious. I learned a lesson last week, if you turn your back on your dogs and a roasted chicken, you will lose your roasted chicken. :(
Next you will be posting bees and flowers. striking silhouettes. Love the blue. @tellefella That movie messed me up. And then when I lived in California, Bodega Bay became my favorite beach, though I was a bit leary of the birds.
I get your pain, man…
I once very carefully and quietly made my way into a flock of geese… All I got for my patience was the top half of one and the bottom half of the other… Weird picture, that was...

@annied @shannejw @newbank @gigiflower I shall write a strongly worded letter to the manufacturers immediately. That should sort the problem out.
