From my appointed high place, where I look down upon all mortals and lesser beings I spied these urchins, these cretins, heretics, plebs, great unwashed - call them what you will - walking upon the unspoiled sands of MY beach!
I am suitably outraged, shocked and stunned at the temerity of these plebs. The hoi polloi shall be struck down for their blasphemy.
And look! They've been walking in circles! I can tell by the tracks they've left! The unconscionable BASTARDS! A pox on them and all their offspring!
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their arm pits!!!
May a really large onion fall upon their heads!
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
As you well know, Mr Stevens, it's your bold crop and the people right at the bottom of the frame that give this shot its dynamic tension and drama... and the sky reflected in the trapped water on the beach. You get a Fav despite your curmudgeonly manner.
I suspect the next time they try this a tsunami will come crashing in and knock them all for a loop. Remind me to never visit NZ when you are watching over the beach! Great shot- love the composition.
Fabulous image! So beautiful - the colour, the composition, the reflections - just love it! Your commentary made me laugh - you are so grumpy it's wonderful! The final touch was the onion on their heads! Huge Fav!
I love it! Not only the wonderful image but also the image I now have in my head.....of some type of gargoyle-like creature (slobbering and drooling)somewhere high above the scene as he bitches and moans about the puny humans.FAV
if only you had the bazooka we have been discussing the need for - I do love the word cretin - and pleb too - I prefer heinous to heretic but I might bandy it about and see how it feels ..................................
this is quite a beautiful image and dare I say the cretins add to its appeal as do the rocks - surprisingly it is EXCELLENT on black

You totally did this in RAW... that is why you dominate these little creatures! (not really). This is lovely - the colors are just fab. I simply have to take time to learn to do this... the results are magnificent.
@hermann Thank you kindly and pleased to be of assistance. @gigiflower They are puny mortals and I have an immense tripod. @taffy Thanks very much on both counts :)
Truely outragous! Maybe your picnic box might be handy for situations like this ,) Not suggesting anyting, just saying;) Love the vastness of this, and that abstract nature of the upper part
@glendq Thank you kindly :) @newbank Always, because it means I have to climb over Kim... ;) And thank you very much as always @susale I think so to! I was almost speechless...got over that pretty quickly though! And thanks very much :) @andrewkru Thank you kindly on both counts :) @dide It's just outrageous! @motherjane Thank you very much, appreciated @chippy1402 Thank you very much :)
Well I have been waiting in the wings, just hanging around , watching to be sure that you have finished your tirade. Despite everything you expressed I find myself loving you photo of the hoi polloi and am drawn to Fav it.
I love how you've used the reflection and black sand over that way to create such a stunning image. They must be a hardy bunch, braving the spring weather and your wrath
@lwain It's quite safe now, I'm in my pyjamas. And thank you so much :) @essafel It was a gorgeous day today, but very brave to be so close to my righteous indignation :)
Pleb....haven't heard that in years. What a great blast from the past. Think I last heard it O'Connell Street Dublin circa 1990. If it's any consolation...the one in the middle looks freezing
Your commentary had me giggling out loud! Not fair. This is a fabulous image love the 'cretins' (sooooo sooorrrry great master) and their reflections. Just look at those gulls in the background. Why didn't you train them to drive them off. They could have mobbed them or **** on them!
Wow, that was a long scroll to the bottom.
I still can't believe the nerve of these people. And the cheek of walking in circles. It's still an awesome shot.
@andy3168 Thank you kindly good sir :) @tasian Thank you very much...sometimes I get carried away in my own self importance... @lynnilou The cheek of it! And thank you so much :) @lorrainelouise Thank you most kindly :) @karlow75 Yes, it's gone and got a bit hectic in here...and thank you. It took me a long time to rake the sand back after they'd gone. @ceilidh Thanks very much...what I need is a bazooka! @trishaclancy I'm pleased one of them is suffering... :)
It's taken me ages to get round to your photo & then I see the dreaded word FLEAS.......you will know if you look at my photo!!
How dare they invade your beach......the nerve of some people & fleas! Actually you have a very beautiful photo there!
@roseolivia Thank you very much :) @terryliv LOL, I was watching...next time... @shepherdmanswife Thank you very much :) @tellefella Thanks very much, appreciated @happypat Thank you very much, I shall punish them next time they transgress @davie Thank you on all counts
Great shot, like your composition and pov. Also like the strong contrast where the water has receded. Totally agree with your commentary, I feel the same about the local beaches. Summer and the hordes will be coming soon - grrr!
