Cretins and Heretics by graemestevens

Cretins and Heretics

From my appointed high place, where I look down upon all mortals and lesser beings I spied these urchins, these cretins, heretics, plebs, great unwashed - call them what you will - walking upon the unspoiled sands of MY beach!
I am suitably outraged, shocked and stunned at the temerity of these plebs. The hoi polloi shall be struck down for their blasphemy.
And look! They've been walking in circles! I can tell by the tracks they've left! The unconscionable BASTARDS! A pox on them and all their offspring!
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their arm pits!!!
May a really large onion fall upon their heads!
Outrageous! but great shot.. love the commentary!

@brigette Thank you very much :)
September 29th, 2014
Awesome shot, and hilarious commentary.
September 29th, 2014
Having a bad day are we? Fav for the funky pov - it messes with my head...
September 29th, 2014
As you well know, Mr Stevens, it's your bold crop and the people right at the bottom of the frame that give this shot its dynamic tension and drama... and the sky reflected in the trapped water on the beach. You get a Fav despite your curmudgeonly manner.
September 29th, 2014
Fantastic shot. Interesting commentary...
September 29th, 2014
Lol, I love it,
September 29th, 2014
I suspect the next time they try this a tsunami will come crashing in and knock them all for a loop. Remind me to never visit NZ when you are watching over the beach! Great shot- love the composition.
September 29th, 2014
Love your use of empty space ... it so shows the smallness of the people and the vastness of the place [world].
September 30th, 2014
Fabulous image! So beautiful - the colour, the composition, the reflections - just love it! Your commentary made me laugh - you are so grumpy it's wonderful! The final touch was the onion on their heads! Huge Fav!
September 30th, 2014
Wonderful composition, Graeme! May I offer you a valium? ;)

September 30th, 2014
Love the coloring here. Great shot.
September 30th, 2014
this is an incredible composition.
September 30th, 2014
I love it! Not only the wonderful image but also the image I now have in my head.....of some type of gargoyle-like creature (slobbering and drooling)somewhere high above the scene as he bitches and moans about the puny humans.FAV
September 30th, 2014
if only you had the bazooka we have been discussing the need for - I do love the word cretin - and pleb too - I prefer heinous to heretic but I might bandy it about and see how it feels ..................................
this is quite a beautiful image and dare I say the cretins add to its appeal as do the rocks - surprisingly it is EXCELLENT on black
September 30th, 2014
Love the water on the sand and the mini people walking into the water. Great title!
September 30th, 2014
Love the horizontal line the water and sand are making. Nice.
September 30th, 2014
They look so tiny! I thought they were birds. I love the water trails on the sand.
September 30th, 2014
Love it! fav
September 30th, 2014
Your commentaries always make me laugh! Great photo.
September 30th, 2014

@blueberry1222 Thank you most kindly ;)
@mzzhope LOL, thanks very much but I have to point out that if I was a gargoyle I'd be more of a spitter and probably a poo thrower!
@annied Now there's an idea...and you feel free to bandy about what ever you feel the need to!
@redy4et Thanks very much indeed :)
@eyeamlisa Thanks very much ;)

September 30th, 2014
@pinkpaintpot Thanks very much - pleased to know someone's on my side!
@annied I had heard rumours about you Australian "laydees"....
September 30th, 2014
@graemestevens I'm no ladyeeeee hahahahahaha
September 30th, 2014
@annied I know, but I was trying to be polite ;)
September 30th, 2014
@graemestevens oh - well don't ever do that - I can see right through that crap hahahahahaha
September 30th, 2014
@annied Sorry ma'am...at least with you not being a "laydee" you never have to vomit in your mouth.
September 30th, 2014
@graemestevens thank god for that - I would throw up if that happened
September 30th, 2014
@annied I don't know how she can stand to do it myself, she must go through a lot of mouthwash and floss.
September 30th, 2014
@graemestevens yeh - and I would much rather aim at someone HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - oh dear - did I really say that lol
September 30th, 2014
@annied Love it...I would agree but I shan't ;)
September 30th, 2014
@graemestevens no don't
September 30th, 2014
@annied Just like tickling you pink, I have no intention of agreeing. I do however keep trying to type "tinkling you pink"...I must seek help.
September 30th, 2014
You totally did this in RAW... that is why you dominate these little creatures! (not really). This is lovely - the colors are just fab. I simply have to take time to learn to do this... the results are magnificent.
September 30th, 2014
@graemestevens tickling you pink - oh it is a bit of a finger twister - like a tongue twister but with typing hahahahaha - tickling you pink - ohhhh
September 30th, 2014
@rosiekerr Thank you very much - as for shooting in RAW, all I did was change my settings! But they are still puny mortals that I dominate
September 30th, 2014
Once again you have provided me with an entertaining lunch. Very cool image, love the sweet little white puppy and fav :))
September 30th, 2014
Sam
Smallest people EVER! They are midgets from NZ :)
September 30th, 2014
Commentary is great and POV makes them look like little birds. Great capture and wonderful sense of scale.
September 30th, 2014
@hermann Thank you kindly and pleased to be of assistance.
@gigiflower They are puny mortals and I have an immense tripod.
@taffy Thanks very much on both counts :)
September 30th, 2014
Really like the abstract quality to this.
September 30th, 2014
Another great shot and commentary ...
September 30th, 2014
How dare they!
September 30th, 2014
haha love your words! great picture wonderful POV
September 30th, 2014
Truely outragous! Maybe your picnic box might be handy for situations like this ,) Not suggesting anyting, just saying;) Love the vastness of this, and that abstract nature of the upper part

September 30th, 2014
@jess1204 It's very real :) And thank you very much!
September 30th, 2014
Well I have been waiting in the wings, just hanging around , watching to be sure that you have finished your tirade. Despite everything you expressed I find myself loving you photo of the hoi polloi and am drawn to Fav it.
September 30th, 2014
I love how you've used the reflection and black sand over that way to create such a stunning image. They must be a hardy bunch, braving the spring weather and your wrath
September 30th, 2014
@lwain It's quite safe now, I'm in my pyjamas. And thank you so much :)
@essafel It was a gorgeous day today, but very brave to be so close to my righteous indignation :)
September 30th, 2014
Fav
September 30th, 2014
@tonygig Thank you kindly :)
September 30th, 2014
Pleb....haven't heard that in years. What a great blast from the past. Think I last heard it O'Connell Street Dublin circa 1990. If it's any consolation...the one in the middle looks freezing
September 30th, 2014
Your commentary had me giggling out loud! Not fair. This is a fabulous image love the 'cretins' (sooooo sooorrrry great master) and their reflections. Just look at those gulls in the background. Why didn't you train them to drive them off. They could have mobbed them or **** on them!
September 30th, 2014
Wow, that was a long scroll to the bottom.
I still can't believe the nerve of these people. And the cheek of walking in circles. It's still an awesome shot.

@karlow75 Yes, it's gone and got a bit hectic in here...and thank you. It took me a long time to rake the sand back after they'd gone.
@ceilidh Thanks very much...what I need is a bazooka!
@trishaclancy I'm pleased one of them is suffering... :)
September 30th, 2014
