Fireworks. My way. by graemestevens

Fireworks. My way.

When it's raining, windy and unseasonably cold I find that the best place to let off fireworks is in a small tunnel down at the beach. It's quite loud but far more spectacular.
Golden threads and light at the end of the tunnel! Like heaven is at the other end if only we can get there?

Love it, great idea Graeme.
November 5th, 2014
What a cool idea! Until reading your description I thought it was maybe a steel foundry. Wonderful effect.

November 6th, 2014

November 6th, 2014
Wimp! Why weren't you in Wellington? Other than that small grumble I really like this shot.
November 6th, 2014
@golftragic Thanks very much, although I fail to see why setting fire works off in a confined space is wimpy ;)
@hermann Thanks, very, very loud ;)
@maishanny Thank you very much
@eyeamlisa Thank you very much indeed
@janiskay Danger is my middle name ;)
@epcello Thanks very much :)
@kali66 My enthusiasm was obscene...and I have sparklers left over too!

@graemestevens HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
November 6th, 2014
@graemestevens Mmmmm, valid point. I withdraw that comment, Your Honour.
November 6th, 2014
Wow! Fantastic!
November 6th, 2014
Sam
Here I was thinking you were doing something masculine like welding. Then thoughts took me back to you and that corset. Damn.
November 6th, 2014
Fireworks in a tunnel. Yes, you must be mad!!! Great shot though.
November 6th, 2014
Dazzling light - very brave of you to share a tunnel with exploding fireworks. They give off a wonderful effect.
November 6th, 2014
Great shot!
November 6th, 2014
This is really cool! We had a huge, huge bonfire out in the field, you would have loved it, so much fire.
November 6th, 2014
Wow. This is an amazing shot. I think I would have been too much of a scaredy-cat to be in that confined space with all that noise and fire
November 6th, 2014
@_catherine_ Thanks very much - and for the follow. There are 2 key phases to this sort of photo. 1. Light fuse 2. Run like hell.
@overalvandaan I do love a good blaze ;) And thank you very much
@chippy1402 Thanks very much :)
@rosiekerr Brave? Insane is closer to the mark...and thanks very much
@888rachel I don;t know what I was thinking...probably not a lot...and thank you :)
@gigiflower I can weld in a corset. I see no reason why not...
@tabarlett Thank you very much :)
@golftragic Hmph. I didn't even get to cross examine ;)
@annied Its the washing machine that I feel sorry for.
@ukandie1 Thank you so much :)
November 6th, 2014

Sam
@graemestevens As long as you wear goggles to protect your eyes
November 6th, 2014
Can you do a 'Ring of fire' selfie? It 's just that I've got that tune in my mind.
November 6th, 2014
@gigiflower Always - I did take some welding photos a while back, it's quite difficult because of the constant changing light...so I moved on to burning things. Maybe I'll wear the corset next time I have a fire...
November 6th, 2014
@overalvandaan Oooooh....a challenge...I'll have to put on my thinking hat instead of my madly impulsive one :)
November 6th, 2014
wow! very cool! :) I saw something about fireworks inside with a candle the other day. Made me put my thinking cap on. I'm not sure I could pull that off. I like the notion of calling my other hat madly impulsive. I may have to steal that! ;)
November 6th, 2014
@voiceprintz Steal away and thank you very much :)
November 6th, 2014
Sue
Very nicely done ... I like the challenge, although could you do it with your clothes on! ;p
November 6th, 2014
@redpants Thanks very much and yes, the clothes will stay on...although that one ring of fire idea out the window ;)
November 6th, 2014
Sue
Of course, hahaha
November 6th, 2014
Did you try to run through it that could be even more spectacular? The first thing comes into my mind is the loud sound. Very creative.
November 6th, 2014
Just noticed your updated blurb about yourself. I love it. I sound so boring in mine. Perhaps I just am.....
November 6th, 2014
love it!
November 6th, 2014
Sue

November 6th, 2014
Bonkers but cool effect
November 6th, 2014
@jaynspain A raving lunatic but thank you very much :)
November 6th, 2014
A noodle in the UK is a foam u shaped tube kids learn to swim with. I have a yellow sat in my kitchen.....
November 6th, 2014
@newbank A noodle here is the same thing and also something that my daughter regularly eats after school.
November 6th, 2014
So you're a foam thing teenagers eat...sounds about right
November 6th, 2014
Just the spot, so hidden away, but light carries, so beware someone out there may have discovered what you're up to.
November 6th, 2014
@graemestevens dare I ask?
November 6th, 2014
@newbank Shudder - wrong on so many levels!
@ceilidh A couple of cars did come down the track to look...oops
November 6th, 2014
Superb effect.
November 6th, 2014
Fab stuff - Fav
November 6th, 2014
Oooooh, fire and brimstone!! I hope this spot is truly secluded.....setting things on fire would be severely frowned upon here, and the cops would be descending in no time at all! Actually, this looks like the end of a sewer or drain pipe!
November 6th, 2014
HOT !! ,fav:)
November 6th, 2014
@andy3168 Thanks very much
@scolgs Thank you kindly
@panthora Thanks very much - it's very public access tunnel to a beach...but no one minded waiting...

Great shot Graeme, I thought you'd gone crazy with wire wool until I read your description.
November 7th, 2014
@pools82 I wouldn't put it past me though...
November 7th, 2014
Just when you thought that you could see the light at the end of the tunnel... it turns out to be the start of WW3! Fav!
November 7th, 2014
@vignouse Yes, just me...up to no good again - thank you kindly
November 7th, 2014
Fav! So creative!
