Short Fuse

Big fires start with a small flame, and there's nothing like playing with fire to soothe my savage soul...that and running around the neighbourhood with a sharp knife, but today it's fires turn to come out and play.
This shot is awesome. Ah yes fire. Night shift tonight. One can only hope :). At least if I here are no fires I get to sleep.
Oh and brilliant processing.

This a great portrait, best on black background. What is it that you're burning, looks like rolled up cardboard? Fav!
November 27th, 2014
"There are no fires" stupid fat fingers.
November 27th, 2014
@overalvandaan Thanks very much - it's a cotton ball, so nothing special
@karlow75 Thank you...here's hoping for a quiet night
November 27th, 2014
Great big flame, but I would have burnt my fingers by now!
November 27th, 2014
@graemestevens yes, being paid to sleep is a very good perk :)
November 27th, 2014
Atta boy, good to see you're still on fire.
November 27th, 2014
@overalvandaan I will admit that you have to be quick and the failed shots outweigh the salvable ones...
@karlow75 I don't know of any perks to my job...maybe it's time I moved on ;)
@golftragic Always :)

Yesterday we were playing with candles that all had different colors of flames. It was fun but my photographs came out really pale
November 27th, 2014
A fire in the hand is definitely worth more than 2 fires in the bush!
November 27th, 2014
Excellent capture! Looks fantastic on black! But it's people like you that make extra work for Kane. Fav!
November 27th, 2014
And yes I am enabling you!
November 27th, 2014

@maggiemae Yes, I believe you may be right...I wouldn't want to be responsible for burning bushes
@pandorasecho It's quite hard to get a good fire shot - the amount of time I fail miserably!
November 28th, 2014
really nice capture Graeme, youve got that down!!! expertly executed!
November 28th, 2014
Awesome! Very cool indeed!
November 28th, 2014

November 28th, 2014
I was hoping to see a selfie from you today - I have had a long tiring week - the last 2 days in particular have made me want to scream and smite and kill - I find your selfies surprisingly calming hahahahahaha

@brigette Thank you very much...if only I didn't look so tired lately!
@gigiflower I'm sure you would...there are many things that I'd like to see as well but that doesn't mean it will ever happen ;)

Very cool.
November 28th, 2014
@andy3168 Thanks very much :)
November 28th, 2014
Just short of a couple of horns here I think to do your fire justice. I like the way the flame is suspended in mid air!
November 28th, 2014
stress at work will do that to you :( hang in there til the holidays!
November 28th, 2014
totally cool shot....
November 28th, 2014
Fabulous, conjuring up fire now. What next I ask?
November 28th, 2014
@brigette Three weeks to go and then I get a month off!!!
@livvy Thanks very much :)
@ceilidh Thanks and who knows...?
@happypat Thanks very much...I have the horns but they're not always on display...

@cocobella Thank you very much :)
November 28th, 2014
Geesh! :) I'm away for a day and a half and missed this. Glad I scrolled back far enough to enjoy. I like the SC. It's wonderfully effective in this shot!
November 29th, 2014
@voiceprintz Thank you so much :)
November 29th, 2014
Some how transported to my childhood and reading the Stephen King book Firestarter.....great mood to the shot and fantastic selective color
November 29th, 2014
@deak68 Thanks very much :)
November 30th, 2014
I love that raised left eyebrow.....that's one of my party tricks, too! I thought I was able to do that because I had Bell's Palsy when I was younger...
As a fellow pyro, of course, I love all your fire photos, but the more I looked at this the more I could see a rolled up feast inside the fire....weird! And, I can imagine your neighborhood is quite deserted if it is a choice between you starting a fire or running around with knives.... ;-)
December 1st, 2014
@panthora There's no one left in my neighbourhood except me...as for the eyebrow, I've always been able to do it, as has my daughter, mother, grandmother...and somewhat disturbingly, my wife as well
December 1st, 2014
@graemestevens Oh, that's too funny...seriously.....it freaks out my husband who runs for cover, or just does whatever I want him to do!! I have not checked with the rest of my family to see if this trait runs in our genes..... ;-))))
December 1st, 2014
@panthora There is a photo somewhere of all of us lined up and doing it...
