Silencing the Enemy by graemestevens

Silencing the Enemy

Another musically inspired shot, and again from Chris Cornell, but this time a song called 'Enemy'. Somewhat disturbingly, spellcheck wanted to call this shot "Silencing the Enema." This particular song is from the album 'Scream', where he ditched his guitar and trademark sound...but I still liked it...and silencing an enema would be nigh on impossible.

Taking my time to untangle the wires
And stare into my sanity
Dropping the hammer and pulling the trigger
I know now the bullet is me
I am the enemy, silencing the enemy

You should SO silence the enema. Quick change it. Nice emotional shot. You rocka the selfies, my friend. I enjoy seeing what you come up with next. I've got some up my sleeve, just need the energy to pull them off.

@amandal Thank you very much - the last thing I want or need is an enema! I have a few more ideas...but the energy at the moment is my real enemy as well!

I think you did mean enema! You did not get your 'a's and your 'y's muddled up but something else got muddled - your imagination and ideas are kind of scrambled?

Super shot, great lighting.
December 11th, 2014
Cool shot, especially on black! It oozes frustration. Calm down, my friend! ;)
December 11th, 2014
@chippy1402 Thank you very much :)
@maggiemae No, I definitely meant enemy...how are they scrambled?
December 11th, 2014
@juliedduncan Actually, very calm today...although to be fair this shot "hit me" yesterday while walking the dogs and listening to music, so that could explain it - and thank you as always
December 11th, 2014
@graemestevens Well, not the average thoughts from an average male, put it that way! Still challenging and worth a smile!
December 11th, 2014
@maggiemae I'd like to think that I'm anything but average :)
December 11th, 2014
I know this feeling well also - hang in there and swing away hahahaha
December 11th, 2014
A real mellow version of that song. Good pic.

I think what really expresses rage in this image is the extreme, even violent processing - it's that which shocks... it's getting darker over your way Graeme and I find that worrying.
December 12th, 2014
@mzzhope Thank you so much :)
@vignouse I'm actually quite chipper today...but thank you very much :)
December 12th, 2014
@graemestevens ummm...jeez that should have said storytelling skills.
December 12th, 2014
@mzzhope Strangely enough I got that - probably because I live with a 14 year old daughter and have developed the skills of a code breaker ;)
December 12th, 2014
Great textures! Cool B&W!
December 12th, 2014
@eyeamlisa I never thought of my face as textured ;) And thank you very much, as always appreciated
December 12th, 2014
@graemestevens I should clarify.... Texture of the tape..... And I guess I should have said lighting. Whatever, I'm exhausted. I'm good for very little right now. :-)
December 12th, 2014
This works well for the song. Glad you caught the auto correct...that would NOT have worked well for the song but, perhaps, for the shot! ;)
December 12th, 2014
You rock these shots. Fantastic!
December 12th, 2014
@graemestevens know that feeling too hahahaha I was very that way arround mid morning LOL
December 12th, 2014
Oh my, very effective! Love your dark selfies!
December 12th, 2014
this is great the processing really matches the moody of the shot. so good.
December 12th, 2014
Great interpretation Graeme. I love the processing
December 12th, 2014
@eyeamlisa Ah, I see...perfect sense ;)

I would love to see an exhibition of all your work, am fascinated by each picture you produce!
December 12th, 2014
Awesome! Your lighting is always so good! It would be interesting for us all to be able to see each other setting up to shoot ourselved ;)
December 12th, 2014
@annied It always does...a cement mixer truck arriving at the neighbours house at 5am does not.
@roseolivia Thank you very much - that would be a traumatic experience!
@lisatown Thank you so much - I'd love to see others set ups but sadly mine is just an iPad app called Softbox and an open window...although sometimes I use a great big 2000w lamp from the shed...blinding, hence the constant frown...
December 12th, 2014
Fantastic, full of emotion!!
December 12th, 2014
Very emotive selfie
December 12th, 2014

December 12th, 2014
@jess1204 Thank you very much :)

@jaynspain I've been caught out by that as well...quite off putting when I think "excellent shot" and up with "excellent shit".
