As strange as it may seem, this shot is for the Fiveplustwo "Super Heroes" challenge. How can that be? I hear you cry.
Well, it's like this - I've never really bought in to the fervour over the likes of Superman, Batman, Captain America etc. however it would be fair to say that in my humble opinion Stephen Fry is not only Super (with a definite upper case S & F) but he is also something of a Hero (for me anyway) and not just linguistically. Lets face it, anyone who can be through what he has been through (be it self inflicted or not) and still announce to the masses that it is perfectly acceptable to imbiginate the English language, or that there simply is not enough arse gravy in the world, has to be more than just average.
This main should be declared a World Heritage Site.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
@panthora You're right, it doesn't exist, but when he said it I think he was just trying to say that language should evolve... @amyleewinfield Thank you very much :)
Love him - loved jeeves and Wooster among other things - can completely accept your hero idea here - and cute shot (but oh so tame....no fire, blood, nudity, raw meat).....what's come over you?
@mzzhope Thank you kindly :) @hippiechick13 I love the guy, everything from his novels to QI, just a legend @deak68 Thanks very much and loves Jeeves & Wooster too. And I'm not wearing trousers.
How delightful to see your nose in a book rather than your chest on fire! I wonder, though, how are the shirts feeling against what has to be new stubble?
He has lulled be to sleep many a night these last 35 years. He is the BEST audio book read there is. Indoctrinating my child now who gets Paddington bear read to him by his wonderful voice.
@denisefuller I couldn't possibly comment! @gigiflower Crumbs. I might wear them more. @quietpurplehaze You raise a valid point, just catering to the masses...the mans a bloody legend though @annied where where! @newbank Ah yes, the voice...it is quite wonderful... @taffy Thank you so much :) @voiceprintz silky smooth thank you, silky smooth @lynnilou Thank you very much indeed :) @hermann Without a shadow of doubt @rosiekerr Thank you so much :)

I think one of my favorite episodes of a late night talk show ever was when Craig Ferguson had an entire episode that was just and interview with Stephen Fry.
@graemestevens ma'am - while I sip on my wine - ok I gave downed that bottle with lunch - I am debating my feelings about the ma'am business - it does indicate bossy so perhaps it works
Graeme, I have to say that I have been lucky to find out my diagnosis 30+ years after my first hospitalized episode of bipolar aged 19. . I then set about researching it and ways to manage it and live my life to keep well. I have a lifestyle management plan which I follow (plus I take lithium) and the last time I was in hospital was 12 years ago and I hope never to be incarcerated on a psychiatric ward again. All good and sincere wishes to your friend.
@quietpurplehaze I'll be seeing her tomorrow night as we're gathering at her place for a pot luck dinner and some laughs so I'll actually pass that along. She's not long been diagnosed so still working through issues, but that's what friends are for!
I have made entirely practical self management charts to use for daily living and if anybody feels that anything at all might be applicable for them I'm very happy to share by email.
I admit, I didn't know much about Stephen Fry until a friend shared a video on Facebook the other day. It was an hour long and after it was over, I felt like I could relate in so many ways even without being diagnosed. I chose to keep reading about it for now and living life one moment at a time. Thank you for your perspective. Btw, great selfie too.:)
@megstorey I know - it won't happen again...but his writing does appeal :)
@amyleewinfield Thank you very much :)

Graeme, I'm a fellow 'sufferer' of bipolar (it also has its advantages) so I can empathise with this man!
